Anthony and Elizabeth Slideshow

Thank you all for your feedback on the picture. I have to side with the ones that like the color version, it's simply too much color to ignore! Check out the link by clicking on "Anthony and Elizabeth Slideshow" to the new slideshow of the recent wedding we did in New York and tell me what you think.

Thanks!

The Storm

Check out this picture I got of a old house during an incoming lightning storm in North Carolina! My wife and I were driving to New Bern to stay in a Bed and Breakfast and Kara saw this old abandoned house with the storm coming in from behind it. This is one of my favorite pictures I've ever taken. I have shot landscape photography for 15 years as well as weddings. Tell me what you like better, the color or black and white version.

Thanks!

Jason

Anthony and Elizabeth - Monday part 3

WEDDING IN NEW YORK Saturday July 14th

This couple was sooooo in love! Here are some pics:

FRIDAY THE 13TH - Monday part 2

FRIDAY THE 13Th!

I am not superstitious but....

I traveled to NY for a wedding on Friday the 13th and, well, let's just say I won't travel on this day again!

1. I screwed up on the flight time and realized that the flight was 2 hours earlier than I had planned! I have never rushed so fast to make a flight.

2. Sat on the run way FOREVER! I guess we were number 50 in line on the runway!

3. Upon arrival we were sent to 3 different luggage carousels and after an hour the airport finally got it right and announced that our flight's luggage was finally comming on carousel 1. We started at 1, we were moved to 3, then 4, then back to 1!

4. The rental car company screwed up our reservation and the car rental for the comming week cost will cost me 1,300 total instead of the origional 600 total.

5. After my wife and I were finally on the road at 1am I was expressing how happy I was that something was now going right and then I got into the wrong lane on a bridge. It was an express lane and the gate would not open to let us through. I had no choice but to back up and get into the cash toll lane. Just my luck! A cop on foot saw us and pulled us over and made us wait for 30 minutes while he made me beg him to not give me a ticket!

6. When we went through the toll lane I had no cash!! I held up traffic another 15 minutes!

7. When we got to the Residence Inn we discovered that we did not get the friends and family rate because the fax from a friend never came through! We paid more than twice the amount I had planned on and then we got stuck on the second floor with ONLY stairs. My wife's suitcase was over 60 pounds! (I know! We paid an overwieght charge at the airport!) I need a chiropractor now!

Pics of three weddings in a day - Monday part 1

So So So Sad

Wow. I don't even know how to decribe how I feel. I guess it is like being a kid and wanting that cool BMX bike for Christmas and you wake up Christmas morning and realize that Santa had forgoten to come to your house!

So, my deadline for getting the pictures to the hotel for the taping was by Friday morning. I took them to the DOW today (thursday) at 3:00pm; ahead of schedule. Somehow there was a little breakdown in communication and the DOW did not find out until it was too late that the station needed them by 12:30 TODAY for the live show tomorrow morning!

It is no one's fault. This all happened so fast and we all thought that the pics needed to be in by tomorrow, not shown tomorrow! Tony, the DOW, is such a busy guy. He has so many weddings happening and so much going on that he is hardly in his office. If any one tried to reach him or leave a voice mail he would not get it until too late. And NBC? I can not even imagine how busy those people are? Probably some of the most busy people ever. Miscommunication happens when people get busy. Just a fact of life.

So, I blame no one for the miscommunication. It is just a dissapointment.

Well, the DOW sent them anyway but the station probably won't be able to get them ready in time. The DOW is dissapointed too. He really wanted the new venue shown on TV. Now the hotel has no pictures to use. Maybe some old ones of just the hotel itself. Not what the hotel or I wanted!

All we can do is cross our fingers and hope that NBC is still able to use them even though I was not given the right deadline.

I won't be able to watch. I will on my way to NY to shoot a wedding. If anyone is in San Diego then maybe you can watch for me. It will be on channel 7 in San Diego at 10:00am. I am still silently hoping that they can get it all together and still use them.

I shot the weddings on Saturday and had all my post production work done LESS than a week later for THREE weddings. A record for me! I never worked so hard and so fast-on top of hundreds of other things and deadlines I had to meet. It is a huge let down to work so hard and so fast on something to have them not used because of a miscommunication over 1 day! If only I had them done just a few hours earlier? If only we would have known I would have stayed up until 3:00am last night!

Don't give up on me

AHHHHH! I hardly have time to type this. I know you are waiting for photos and I hate to keep you all waiting. I am trying like crazy to get the hotel the pics they need by Friday.

The hotel's new venue will be featured on TV and they are going to use my photos for the story! The taping is on Friday. I can not believe my photos will be on TV!

More details later when I can stop to breathe a little!

7-7-07 - 3 Weddings in One Day

Yes, you read that right!

The Director of Weddings at the Sheraton Harbor Island (where I took the firework pics) and I have known each other for years. He hired me to do something really cool yesterday.

Since 7-7-07 was the biggest wedding day ever, the hotel had TONS of weddings scheduled back to back. Recently, the hotel built a beautiful outdoor venue right near the water for ceremonies. The hotel is changing all their collateral to include pictures of this new venue. (website, brochures, advertisements, pamphlets, sales kits, etc.)

So, Tony (DOW) hired me for Saturday. He asked me to shoot three weddings for the hotel's collateral. Each couple had their own hired photographer and I was there strictly to get pictures for the hotel. The couples and their photographers were aware of my purpose and we all worked together nicely!

The wedding department had very specific shots that they wanted from each wedding. I focused on more artsy shots and shots that highlighted the venue as well as the bride and groom. It was a great opportunity for me to shoot weddings for a different client with a different perspective.

WOW! I had tons of fun. I have never shot three weddings in one day. I am still tired!

Sorry, you will have to wait until Monday to see some pics. I have been on the phone all evening with brides. I finished my last phone call at 11:00pm tonight. I am always up late chatting! I also booked three weddings tonight with the coolest couples.

I have not even had a chance to upload all the pictures from yesterdays weddings. I will post them tomorrow. It is almost midnight and I need to go to sleep!

Time to help my wife realize her dreams

I have been so busy the last few years working on building my dreams. My dear wife has given so much of her time to not only support me but to work for me. She has set aside her goals to help me achieve mine. My dreams are all coming true. It is time for my wife to realize hers.

My wife set aside a book she was writing to help me. She also set aside a language-learning program that I believe is very promising. I think it is about time she finishes that book and that program. This month I will reorganize our home to give her a nice office with a comfortable writing chair. I will be giving her some money to invest into the creation of her language program. She will have my love and support to accomplish her goals. After all, she deserves it. She is a wonderful wife and mother.
