Jacob's Field

We just returned last week from an amazing wedding in Cleveland, OH. Leslie and I went out and shot this amazing couple named Matt and Jenna Sekerak. We had a two day shoot with the first day taking two locations....Squires Castle and Jacob's Field where the Cleveland Indians play. It was such an awesome feeling to be there in the middle of the stadium on the pitchers mound!! We got to be on the field for over two hours which was phenomenal. Me being from California I must have fallen at least three times....the worst of which was in the Indians clubhouse. The stadium representative were SO made the shoot fantastic. We had the ceremony and the reception in the Terrace Club at the stadium on Saturday and it was beautiful. The couple were especially great and the bride was SUCH a trooper in participating in so many shoots with a strapless dress! It was one of the funnest shoots I've done all year. This was also the first wedding I used the infrared camera on which was really cool. The results with the camera are outstanding. Can you tell which ones are infrared? Please check out the slideshow below!!

Christmas at Disneyland

Nothing is better than having kids during Christmas....and despite the fact that my three boys received a TON of presents from Santa, grandma and grandpa, and others....their final present from Mom and Dad was annual passes to Disneyland. Below are some pictures of us with the kids at Disneyland. My favorite shot is when I'm holding my son Kevin during the Pirates of the Caribbean ride. He loved the ride but every time we went down a small water shoot he would cover his eyes. After the ride all three boys kept begging to go back. It was a great time...but it was also pretty cold for California! Needless to say we will be heading back to D-land many more times this year.

Squires Castle

For those of you who haven't seen or photographed the Squires Castle in Willoughby Hills, OH, you need to go. These pictures are taken of Leslie Roark, one of my photographers who never had Bridal Portraits we did it in Ohio while out here for a shoot. I came to the castle earlier in the day with the bride and groom and can back here at night with Leslie. I can't post any pictures of the bride and groom until all their pictures are ready....but they turned out great as well. The most rewarding part about the shoot is we were trying to use a Qflash to provide the lighting but couldn't get it to all of the light is provided by my trusty Nikon SB8oo normal external flash. We were really excited when we saw we decided to post them right away. Let me know what you think!!!!!!!

Always looking to try something different and to venture into a new realm of photography, I took the plunge and bought an infrared camera. I didn't do the whole conversion route of taking a standard digital and having it converted...I bought a Fujifilm IS-1 which is a great camera. I have tried to purchase the IS PRO but it is very hard to come by and you have to be affiliated with law enforcement to get one. These cameras are meant for forensic work, but have started to become popular for those photographers looking for a different look. I snapped these two shots yesterday literally while driving around. The first one I took through my windshield while sitting in traffic (very common for California), and the second one I took at a park. It may look like a winter wonderland but it's actually green trees and grass....pretty cool. I'm going to start using it slowly with weddings and other ventures (on a limited basis), but if you get it right it can provide some stunning effects. Let me know what you think!

Sorry for the long delay in postings! I have been tied up...and on top of that it was my birthday! I thought I would share some photos of a beautiful model that I did a shoot with in Atlanta two weeks ago. We did a shoot in a mansion and she did a fantastic job with helping the way the photos turned out. Take a look and let me know what you think!

Mr. and Mrs. Bell

Check out this wedding we shot last weekend for Mike and Connie Bell. It was a wonderful wedding for a very neat couple. The funnest part was doing some of the wedding shoot in a nearby playground....which lead to some great shots. Take a look at the wedding by watching the slideshow below. Beautiful Smile

Hey All! Check out this Bridal shoot I did with this amazing bride named Connie. She isn't a model...but she sure looks like one.

We went down to San Diego a week before the wedding and did this shoot where she was such a trooper. It was getting a little cold towards the end of the night and being down at the beach...the breeze was coming in. Well, I kept offering to call it a day but she kept saying, "No, let's keep going...let's get these shots." We kept going and it paid off with a great shoot. When we got back into the car I turned on the heater and she kept it going for about 30 minutes full blast....

I kept apologizing and she kept laughing saying it was worth it for the shots. I hope you all think it was worth it as well. Take a look and let me know what you think!

Life is Good

Check out this wedding we did in San Diego for Chris and Jessica Grooms. They were a fantastic couple and we just loved shooting the wedding! You have to watch the end of the slideshow just to see the shots of the best man dancing and posing for the camera....they are fantastic!!

I hope you all had a great Thanksgiving! My parents were out of the country visiting my sister and her Marine husband who are stationed in Okinawa, and Kara's parents were out of town as well. So, we watched some football, spent some time together as a family......and went out to eat for our Thanksgiving dinner so I could spare us from the cooking and cleaning up for the day.....which is what I truly gave thanks for. It was perfect.

A big thanks to all of you who voted for me!!!! I will find out the results this Friday as to whether or not I won and will definitely keep you posted. The neatest part about this contest has been reading the customer comment page. I always get to hear the feedback from my brides and grooms....but the coolest part is being able to read what friends and family thought about the wedding....because I didn't always get to hear that before.

We truly have a great profession where people constantly give us praise when we do a great job. Having worked in the corporate sector for years I can tell you that's not usually the case. That is truly something for us to give thanks for.
